Caravan Insurance

It’s a Diglea caravan park requirement that you are insured and you will need to provide us with a copy of your insurance certificate regardless of the provider you select. We can introduce you to Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance Brokers Limited (Gallagher) who may be able to offer an insurance policy to cover your Holiday Home on a New for Old replacement basis.

Subject to your Structure sum insured being adequate, New for Old cover is provided for the replacement cost of a new holiday home, including decking, balcony or patio, outbuildings and the cost of removing debris and re-siting a new unit following a total loss. If the manufacturers of your caravan no longer make your unit, you may be provided a replacement with its nearest equivalent. Contents cover is also available. Cover for clothing, bedding and linen is provided on a Market Value basis.

Alternatively, you can speak to Gallagher about Market Value cover. A Market Value policy may mean the policy premium costs less than a New for Old policy, however, if the caravan was damaged beyond repair you may only receive the resale market value of your caravan (which could be much lower than you realise). For example if you purchased a sited van for £10,000, you are paying for the caravan itself but also the plot as well (and sometimes site fees too). Therefore, the resale market value may be significantly lower. If you're not sure what your resale market value is, we can provide you with further information in the office.

Policy limits and exclusions may apply, please see policy wording for full terms and conditions.
